| ASAP® 104 |
| In this application, 3 different computers in separate locations connect with multiple computers (any number) around the country to access information regarding POS, Energy Management, and Time and Attendance. |
Below, is an on-line application showing how the ASAP 104 and the ASAP Dispatcher DP1 work together allowing the fastest connect times with the least amount of user intervention. The following application shows 3 different computers/systems connected to the ASAP 104 (Point-of-Sale, Energy Management, and Time and Attendance) as well as a telephone. This allows inbound and outbound telephone calls during normal business hours, and automated polling of the connected data devices after hours. Access to the data devices can be accommodated by access codes in the dialing of the calling computer. For automatic operation without dialing strings, the Dispatcher DP1 produces the single frequency tones required for direct access. The ASAP 104 can also be shut down (on all ports or individually) completely to inbound calls depending on application requirements. |
|
Each Dispatcher DP1 shown sends one of 3 different frequency tones to each ASAP 104 location. The tone is recognized by the ASAP 104 and the call is automatically routed to the port assigned to that frequency and the call connects to the desired device. Using this application, literally hundreds of locations equipped with the ASAP 104 can be polled by the Dispatcher DP1 for POS, Energy Management, and Time and Attendance data and still maintain normal telephone service -- all on a single telephone line at each location. Both the Dispatcher DP1 and the ASAP 104 are equipped with Emergency Call Override. This means that during any data transmission, anyone lifting a phone off-hook at the ASAP 104 location will automatically get dial tone in approximately 5 seconds. |
